FAQ's

Who exactly are these Women’s Vital Health DVDs aimed at?
Every woman over 35 years is going to face all or some of the concerns addressed within these workouts. Ranging from monthly hormonal imbalances such as; PMT or Peri/menopausal changes with decreased oestrogen levels, pelvic floor weakness usually after childbirth. As we age we may encounter loss of central core muscles, decreased flexibility, loss of muscles mass and bone density.  Each title will assist in a holistic approach to your future fitness and independence.

I don’t like going to the gym, but I want to start an exercise program at home, any suggestions?
Absolutely, The Women’s Vital Health Series is a progressive system that helps you develop all round strength and flexibility at your own pace.  When  you have mastered the fundamental series “Replenish” you may then feel confident to continue to challenge your routine. Next level is “Hormonal Harmony” which is slightly more difficult with more repetitions and variations to build your endurance for exercise.  Once you have confidence in natural movement patterns, this will enhance the rest of your life, making daily activities surprisingly easy.

Commonly following exercises that are for Abdominal strength and tone, I find I end up with a tight sore neck. How can I avoid this discomfort?
Try the “Replenish” workout, which helps you establish chest flexion with assistance from the arms.  Remember when you lift the head up from the floor.  Lift over the sternum (breast bone) in a controlled manner and focus the eyes towards the navel.  The head is 7% of the body weight, which is heavy for the small structures within the neck (cervical spine).

I am a 48 year old Woman and have begun to experience restless nights and Insomnia, also I feel overheated at times.  I would like to maintain a natural approach to Menopause and avoid taking HRT.  Can any exercise help with this problem?
You may be approaching Peri-Menopause whereby the first common symptoms are Hot flushes and night sweats.  Try “Hormonal Harmony” in this DVD you will discover, how to interrupt a hot flush by controlled slow breathing and moving into various postures which promote calming effects on the Central Nervous System.

My Grandmother, who is 85 years old is incontinent and has great difficulty participating in any exercise for that reason.  She used to be very active and confident.  How can I help?
My suggestion is to start elderly de-conditioned women with the Basic beginner program such as “Replenish”, whereby she will re-learn fundamental movement patterns and gain strength and control progressively and safely.  When she has self-mastery of this workout then she can move on to more challenging sequences.  Remember to help your grandmother, by motivating her and finding a comfortable safe environment for her to start exercising, then the rest is easy.

I run everyday, why would I need to do anymore exercise to increase my bone density?
The WHO  (World Health Organisation) issued a mission statement in 1995.  Stating that activities such as walking, jogging and running are not considered weight-bearing, as they do not progressively challenge the bone mass.  Osteoblast cell formation in the bone matrix is stimulated when the Muscles and ligaments attached to the bone are under tension, therefore exercises which use load such as; lifting weights, using therabands or resistance type of activities all increase bone mass and density. “Osteoblast” is a great way to add in your weight-bearing components for the week.

Having looked at your Website, I am finding it difficult to decide which DVD I need?
Honestly as the body is multi-dimensional, so should your exercise regimes, incorporating variety and balance.  Try all of the DVDs in the Women’s Vital Health Series to benefit your physical and mental well-being.

After having my two children, I feel weak, I also have a jelly-belly and saggy butt.  Everything seems to be heading south!  Help!
The added weight of your unborn child is enough to push any structures away from the central abdominal cavity.  So you really need to strengthen your central core muscles and existing support system. Try “Replenish” and progressively work towards “Pelvic Power” for total body strength, Pelvic floor activation and control.

Where can I purchase a roller or mat as used in the Osteoblast DVD?
